hiking in corcovado, san antonio & cahuita national park
In August 2025, I travelled to Central America for the first time with a small group to explore Costa Rica with its lush tropical rainforests, picturesque beaches and incredible variety of wildlife. One of the best places to visit in this country is undoubtedly Corcovado National Park on Costa Rica's Pacific coast. It is currently the largest park in Costa Rica, covering about one-third of the Osa Peninsula. The park is known for having the greatest diversity of plants and animals on the planet. Our group went on several hikes there. We also visited Arenal Volcano National Park, Tenorio Volcano National Park, Rincón de la Vieja National Park, San Antonio National Park and Cahuita National Park on Costa Rica's Caribbean coast.

The three-week tour of the country started in the capital, San José. From there, our group travelled north to the Arenal Volcano, Tenorio Volcano National Park and Rincón de la Vieja National Park, before turning south towards Manuel Antonio and Corcovado National Park. The next stop was San Gerado de Dota, an idyllic cloud forest area in the middle of the Talamanca mountain range. Afterwards, we visited the southern Caribbean coast to hike in Cahuita National Park.
