Ghadames03

In old Ghadamès life could be lived on the roof terraces. The roof was the domain of the women, the kitchen being on the roof. Women could easily move around from one roof to another to communicate with each other; they would only descend into the streets just after sunrise or just before sunset when the men were away at the mosque.
