The Olgas (Kata Tjuta) rise 546m above the surrounding sand dunes, well vegetated with desert oaks, acacias and hummock grass. The 36 individual domes are thought to have once been one rock many times the size of Ayers Rock (Uluru) and eroded over millions of years into their present, softly rounded shapes.
